Second card from The Wilson museum with comments on design and colour wheel

The above card is designed by Amelia King, ameliakingprints@gmail.com

The second card that I chose to select for comment is one that I had to look closely at to decipher the design of a bull with a crown on.  It was quite a while before I realised that the other two pink outlines were of two thrones.  Normally a negative, not to see a clear design, however, contemporary and abstract art has led to our willingness to work at something and accept it where what it is, is not immediately obvious. So a lack of clarity can add a modern feel to it. White, a neutral colour, helps to unveil the design as it makes boundaries. Again this is a striking combination of a primary colour with a variation of a second primary colour pink not red.  It looks unusual as a combination.  The pink not red makes it less striking but attention grabbing as we do not often see pink and yellow together.

Possibly can be sent to both sexes but may attract a more female audience due to bright colours and that yellow and pink are still more often associated with females. They have crept in to male wardrobes and in contemporary life are seen as colours males use for ties, shirts and shorts.

One word summary - Contemporary

Successful design?  Despite taking a while to decipher it.  Yes.  Displays the phenomenon of once you see it you cannot unsee it and ask yourself what took so long.
